All American Red Cross certifications are contingent upon candidate's successful completion of a written and practical exam to the standards set by American Red Cross.

American Red Cross Lifeguarding Blended Learning (e-learning)

  • The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding Blended Learning course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies in an online/classroom based environment. The online format enables teens and young adults to complete interactive lessons and activities on their own time. Completed online lessons are due at the beginning of each skill session. Attendance is mandatory at all skill sessions.

Min. 5 Max: 10

Course Prerequisites (will be tested during the first skills session).

  • 15 years or older complete 300 yd. swim using front crawl and breaststroke.
  • Recover and swim 25 yards with 10-lb. object (goggles may not be used in this event)
  • Treading water using only the legs for 2 minutes.

$135 resident/$165 non-resident/session

Lifeguard Review Schedule

This 10 hour course is intended for individuals that need to renew their American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification. All skills and written test material (including: Lifeguarding, CPR, AED and First Aid) will be tested in a challenge format, with limited review provided. Newly revised skills will be reviewed before testing. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers certificates valid for two years.To be eligible for the review course, participants must have successfully completed an American Red Cross Lifeguarding course and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer course within the last 2 years. Individuals that do not have eligible certificates may not participate in the review course. They may only participate in a full course.
