For the first time in 99 years, a total eclipse of the sun will be visible across the United States. Its final stop before heading out to the Atlantic? Isle of Palms, South Carolina.
Although everyone in the United States will be able to see a partial eclipse, this once-in-a-lifetime viewing of the full eclipse will only be visible in certain areas- such as at Charleston's barrier island resort Wild Dunes Resort. The sun will disappear for 2 ½ minutes first in Salem, Oregon quickly moving eastward through St. Louis, Missouri, eventually ending an hour and a half later directly over Charleston, South Carolina. Visitors and locals alike can escape the city light to fully experience this unforgettable and life-altering phenomenon at Wild Dunes Resort on August 21, 2017 at 2:48 p.m.
